I wish there was a way to share our e-book with you. We worked on it most of last class, but it turned out really nicely. All of the programs we have used in this course take time to get to know, and feel comfortable with. I can see why teachers would feel anxiety introducing them into their everyday planning.
I guess that brings up my biggest question. How much training is given to teahcers before they are expected to implement the software. Each assignment created will take at least a half hour to create, so it will be a lot of additional work. I believe it is important work though. I just worry that many teachers will be scared of technology.
What do you think?

I think most teachers would look at the workload and say "you've got to be kidding". Fortunately, most of the programs have ready-made work available.
Wouldn't it be nice if each school had a staff person whose job it was just to create AT peices for all the teachers? :)
I agree, most teachers will think they don't have the time. Which is why the ready-made lessons are so popular with many of these programs. Students are lucky when they have extra support (resource and/or learning centre teachers and EAs) who are capable and willing to go that extra step to create something new for them when needed. Hopefully that situation will continue to become more and more the standard and less the exception as more educators and parents understand how assistive technology can be used to help students show us what they know, and advocate for it.
